Writing QuoteGet Your Book Ready to Be Published

If you’re ready to have your novel stand out to publishers and agents, I’m now available for a limited number of editing projects. I will help you bring out the best book you can possibly write, the book you’ve had in your heart of hearts for a long time. I’m experienced working in a variety of genres, including memoir, literary fiction, children’s books, young adult, sci-fi and fantasy books, nonfiction books, query letters, book proposals, and more.

Testimonials:

“Michael is a wonderful editor and writing coach. His remarkable clarity is geared towards a socially conscious awareness.” – Kommany Sinlapasai Writer/Author

“Michael has a way of zooming in to your core, to help you tap into your wisest, most creative, passionate self!” ~ Jeff Block, author of Steel Wool on a Stick.

I am the editor of an online magazine called Lightworkers World  and I also ran a writing critique group for several years. I am also a member of SCBWI (The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators)

My rate is $50 an hour. I have a very conscientious approach I am certain you will get a lot from. I give you my best in order to bring out your best. In my experience, good input on twenty pages is far more helpful than rushed input on a hundred pages. Quality support takes you much further, and that’s my aim with each client. .

Note: Although I can catch many grammar/punctuation mistakes, I’m not a flawless proofreader. The service I offer is for content and developmental edits.

You must write it

Here’s an article I wrote I think you will find helpful: Seven Tips to Put ‘Power and Passion’ in Your Writing

A Solution-oriented Approach to Writing:

Some editors focus mostly on “what’s wrong” with the writing. Although sometimes that is needed, I find the most helpful kind of editing is solution-oriented. I am very good at seeing what’s not working about your book and then coming up with helpful solutions to make your writing shine.

I’ve seen well-intentioned editors focus only on what’s wrong, with disastrous consequences. Many writers quit (or are set back for years) because they got a critique that only focused on what’s wrong. This has NOTHING to do with honesty or dishonesty. I do give honest critiques, and of course there are times when they sting. But it is far more productive to develop your writing skills and polish your manuscript by focusing on solutions.
